Idaho

Two weeks ago we made a quick trip to Idaho. Our niece Sarah was getting baptized in Rexburg, and Scott had his 10 year high school reunion in Preston. It also happened to be the weekend of the Famous Preston Night Rodeo, which is a huge deal for Preston. We didn't make it to the actual rodeo this year, but we did enjoy the parade where the boys scored a ton of candy. Logan got sick while we were there so we didn't get to go see our sisters in the Provo area. Both Melissa and Kacey were due this week with babies so we didn't think that giving them the stomach flu would be the best idea. We did however manage to pass it along to our cousins here when we got back to town...sorry guys!

Jaden found Grandma's reading glasses, so of course he insisted that he needed them in order to look at his books.

Logan plugging away on his laptop....they were great travelers!

Scott with his brothers - Mark, Mike, and Josh

The kids put on a show for us.

Grandpa trying to hold Logan still long enough for a picture.

Cousins - Dallin, Carson, Jaden, and Logan

How cute is he?!

With Sarah on her big day.

Scott was in charge of his class reunion, and I think it turned out pretty well. They had water toys for the kids to do while the adults visited. My kids were in heaven!

Scott called up his buddies beforehand and coordinated their outfits for the reunion!

Scott's friend Brett flies helicopters and they had one in the parade. Jaden got to sit in it beforehand, which pretty much made his day. That things was super tiny, there is no way in the world I would ever go up in it!

Anxiously awaiting the start of the parade. Bring on the candy!

Here they come!

We were able to sneak in a quick hike and fishing trip while Logan was getting over his sickness. It was such a beautiful day, I'm glad we decided to go.

Jaden found a walking stick just like grandpa's.

Yard Sale

We had our first ever yard sale this weekend (this is first year we've had a yard). Thanks to a lot of help from my sister Heather and my parents it was a much bigger success than I thought it would be. Along with the yard sale we also had to talk in church today and then I had a lesson to teach too. It was definitely a busy weekend, we are loving lounging around today!
The boys were hard at work as well. Jaden was pretty disappointed that more people didn't want to buy lemonade.
Keeping cool in the 100 degree weather!

Camping

We took the boys camping this weekend, it was Logan's first time sleeping in a tent. I have to admit that I wasn't exactly counting down the days until our wilderness adventure, but we all ended up having a good time. We had a campfire, went on a couple of bike rides and a hike.
I was really worried about how the kids would sleep in the tent. We didn't attempt lights out until 10:00, but I think it was about 11:30 when the kids finally fell asleep. As it would turn out our air mattress doesn't hold air anymore so by the time the kids were down Scott and I were laying on the uneven ground. It didn't seem to faze Scott but I couldn't manage to fall asleep until 3:30 and the kids were up at 6 so it was a short night (well actually Scott got up with the kids and took them to the lake to throw rocks while I slept a little while longer). It was good though that they got up so early so we were able to get a bike ride and hike in before it got too hot.
Jaden keeps asking if we can go camping everyday. I told him that would be fun and then we wouldn't need our house anymore. He changed his mind after he heard that, he likes camping but I don't think he likes it well enough to give up all his toys.

If they only would have laid down like this all night!

Happy Campers!

Jaden was actually very exciting about roasting marshmallows despite the look on his face in this picture.

As it would turn out he thought they tasted better straight out of the package, so marshmallows got a quick swirl through the flames and then went directly to his mouth.

Bagels and bug spray...the breakfast of champions!

This was right before we turned around to go back. Right after this picture I decided to run out onto the logs floating in the water. The kids wanted to follow me but I said no that just mommy would go out there since I have the best balance of the family. I should just know not to say things like that because of course they always come back and bite ya. I was trying to be quick and in my leaping back to shore I jumped on a floating log not a stable one. I was lucky to only have one leg end up in the water rather than my entire self. About 5 minutes later as we were walking back Jaden says to me, "well mom I guess you don't have the best balance in the family after all".

Keeping Busy

Summer is flying by and we are enjoying every minute of it. Recently Scott and I were able to get away for a weekend without the kids which was amazing. It was the first time in 4 years that I have been away from my kids for for that long. I did miss my boys, but it was very relaxing to have a little break. Scott had some meetings, but also a lot of free time so we were able to go out and hike around some waterfalls nearby.
The boys were exciting as can be to sleep over at Grandpa and Grandma Hatfield's house. I think they were pretty disappointed when we came back for them.

The boys went to a Yakima Bears baseball game last week. It was the same night as mutual so I couldn't go, but my dad was able to take my place (I don't think I was missed much). Chad's family was there too so it was a even more exciting for my boys.

The kids got to sing 'Take me out to ball game' Jaden has been wanting to practice it this week because he said he didn't know the words as well as the other kids. I wish I would have thought to take a picture of Logan when they got home because I don't know if I have ever seen him that dirty before. He spent a good portion of the time climbing up and down the bleachers which turned out to be filthy. Logan's legs were totally black and his shorts just about the same color.

On the 4th of July we went to "Cherry Days" at a local orchard. They had several things going on that day but we didn't stay long enough for most of them. We were able to pick some cherries and go for a hay ride. We had picked blueberries the day before and it turns out they were a lot easier for the kids to pick, we got all we needed though and had a great time.

We spent the rest of the 4th over at the Tree's place playing in the sun all day and eating some yummy food!

My sister Melissa and her family was in town this week so we were able to do lots of fun things with them. I guess I never had my camera around at the right time so I will have to rely on someone else to post pictures of all our adventures.
