A quick recap

If you haven't heard by now we found out about a month ago that baby #3 is another BOY.

The boys have been very SICK for the past week! After nearly 5 years of motherhood I had my first visit to the ER. Jaden had a cold that kept getting worse which led to him having a really hard time breathing. I tried taking him to an instacare center, after about 3 minutes in the room that doctor sent us immediately to the emergency room. We were there for several hours. They gave Jaden a couple of breathing treatments and a chest xray. His final diagnosis was bronchitis, borderline pneumonia, and asthma attack. We are now the proud owners of our own nebulizer machine, which I am hoping we never have to use again. Just to show how bad I am at blogging these days, I never carry my camera around with me anymore so I have no pictures of our exciting hospital visit.

At first Jaden thought it was fun to wear a fish mask during his breathing treatments...

The excitement wore off quick when he realized that he had to sit there for 10 mins at a time, several times a day.

Logan started with a cold as well and his soon led to an ear infection (Jaden had a double ear infection as well) and croup. I nearly took him to the ER in the middle of the night since I had never experience croup before and didn't know what to do. Logan improved a little before I actually loaded him up in the car, so luckily for our pocketbook he was able to just go to the instacare in the morning. The hardest part was keeping my active boys still so that they could rest and recover. They are much better now and are loving the warm weather we are having.
Scott went to the first round of ncaa basketball games in Spokane (while I was at home with sick kids). Jaden was pretty upset when he found out why his dad was gone, so we had to have our own basketball party here. Jaden and Scott made tickets for us to get into the "arena" and we got to order dinner from the concession stand. Here are my boys eating hot dogs and frozen burritos. They followed that up with popcorn and nachos.

Jaden doubled as a spectator and the official ticket taker.

Since my last post I did have a birthday. Just one more year of my youth!
One morning I got out of the shower to find Jaden ready to put on a cowboy concert for me.
I was gone one night at winter camp with the young women in the ward, so the boys got to have a cookout of their own.

Hawaii

Scott and I spent eight amazing days in Hawaii. I love my kids and was really sad to leave them for so long, but I am so glad that we went without them. We'll take them to the Oregon coast this summer and they will think it is just as fun. The kids loved staying with Grandma Holt and we are very thankful she was willing to come and stay with them for so long. We are also very thankful to my parents for providing us a free place to stay and some good company in Hawaii.
Scott and my dad decided to rent paddle boards one day. Turns out it was a little trickier than they had hoped for.

On Sunday we found the church that my grandparents attended when they lived in Hawaii back in the 1940s.

We drove up the North Shore to watch locals surf in the big waves.

We heeded the no swimming sign and just watch from the sand.

We were disappointed to find that the Laie Temple was closed for renovations.

The Pali Lookout.

As a reward for sitting through a long presentation in the morning we got extremely cheap tickets to the Polynesian Cultural Center. To sweeten the deal even more, we got to sit the in front row that night for the show!

The yummy dinner.

Another night we went to a magic show. The opening act was none other than Elvis himself!

The guy turned a piece of paper into "snow." It was a pretty cool show. We were sitting right near the stage so I thought I would be able to see better how he did everything, but I'm still as confused as ever how he made a helicopter appear on stage and a car disappear.

Once we got to Hawaii I realized that relaxing on the beach is a little harder when you are pregnant. I'm not suppose to lay flat on my back and obviously laying on my stomach is not an option. I sat propped up in a chair most of the time, but when I needed a change of position Scott would dig a hole in the sand for my big belly. That's true love!
Pregnant or not snorkeling was as fun as ever!

We went on a boat ride that was awesome! It was cloudy the afternoon we went, but that was actually a nice alternative to burning to a crisp.

Our last day

Headed home to see our kids!

The boys were overjoyed to see Scott, I think I got a "oh yeah, hi mom."

Keeping their eyes closed while I brought out their presents from Hawaii.

Snorkels and ukuleles!

January

January has been both extremely busy and long. We are heading out for Hawaii tomorrow so it seems like the month has dragged on waiting for the trip to come. Scott is in the process of opening his own office (with Edward Jones) which should open about a week after we get back. He has been using office space at another financial advisors office and he is very much looking forward to getting out on his own.
In other exciting news for Scott he turned 29 earlier this month!

Jaden was invited to a princess/knight birthday party last week. He had a blast and has been slaying dragons all week.

Scott and I had a couple of meetings last week which got Jaden to thinking that they never have kid's meetings. He really wanted me to invite his cousins and friends over for the "children only meeting." Since he came up with the idea late in the day the only ones attendance was himself and Logan. Jaden got himself and Logan all dressed up in their church clothes and pulled a chair into his room for Logan to sit on. He got out a Friend magazine and gave a really nice lesson.

Jaden made sure that they had time to color a picture before the meeting was over.

Christmas 2009

So I was a little vague in my last post - baby #3 is due July 4th. I'm just about 4 months along now, but I look like I'm at least 6 months. This pregnancy isn't going to be kind to me. Other than that I am feeling great, just tired all the time. Since I go to bed so early these days I haven't been very good at blogging. So here is our Christmas...just a few weeks late.
A couple of days before Christmas there was ring at door at grandma and grandpa's house and who could it be? Santa himself!
Jaden seeing who was standing at the door.

He was pretty sure it was his Grandpa dressed up, but not sure enough to get too close to him.

Logan wanted absolutely nothing to do with him. He still talks daily about how he was too scared to sit on Santa's lap.

I wasn't afraid!

The boys attempted a gingerbread house.

We've entered the awkward picture phase.

Christmas morning!

After opening gifts at our house we headed over to my parents and the kids got to open round two of presents.

After several days of celebrating and staying up late playing with cousins Logan couldn't take it anymore and crashed out about 5 pm.
