Seaside

We got back last night after a long weekend on the Oregon Coast. We have been wanting to take this trip for awhile but were waiting until the weather got a little nicer. This was about the last weekend we had free before it was too close to the baby coming for me to travel so we went for it even if rain was in the forecast for everyday we were there. We ended up being very lucky and it mostly only rained at night. It was cold but that didn't stop us from enjoying every minute of it. Jaden is already planning our return trip.
On the way to Seaside it rained most of the way.

The sun was shining though by the time we got checked in and we headed directly to the beach.
Running to the water.

This is the farthest he got...it was really cold!

Logan was happy to stay in the sand

The swings on the beach were a big hit!

Jaden and Scott got to ride the bumper cars twice.

Since Logan was too small to ride the bumper cars this was his big ride.

Feeding the seals at the aquarium

The aquarium had a touch tank which Jaden bravely reached his hand into (that is a big deal for this kid).

I love his picture. I think it looks like he is hanging out trying to pick up some babes.

Although he doesn't look like it, Logan seemed like he was having a good time while the ride was going. When we went back the next day though he said he didn't want to ride it again.

We spent an afternoon at Cannon Beach

I'm too pregnant to be too much fun, but I did manage to get my feet buried in the sand.

The boys spent forever rolling down this sand hill. They had sand everywhere!

The Tillamook Cheese Factory

The cheese tour was actually very interesting

The best part of all was the ice cream cone we got before we left.

We somehow managed to go see a lighthouse without actually getting a picture of it, but here are the boys just outside of it.

Standing in front of the Octopus Tree

Warming up our feet in front of the fire after a cold walk on the beach.

On the was home Sunday we stopped and had a picnic lunch at Multnomah Falls.

The only family picture we got the entire trip.

Easter

We have had a really calm winter and an early spring so we were very surprised to wake up to snow a few days before Easter. The boys loved watching it fall and were pretty disappointed that it turned to rain and melted before they got to chance to go out in it.

Coloring eggs with little kids is always an adventure.

Easter morning Logan was a little nervous about the bunny leaving him a basket so he hid under his blanket until he knew it was safe.

The Easter Bunny left some gummy teeth.

Sunglasses are always a hit!

They only family picture we got was sporting our shades.

We had a lot of fun over at my parents house celebrating with family. We also managed to listen to some great conference talks.

The boys like to put on shows with their cousins. For some reason they always have to take off their shirts to perform.

Eventually some if not all lose their pants too.

As the night was winding down we told the boys to look outside to see a surprise...the Easter Bunny! Jaden took one look out the window and completely lost it. I have never heard him scream that loud or sound more terrified than at that moment. I tried to calm him down and tell him it was just Aunt Sharon dressed up in a costume for fun, but he was still uneasy for the rest of the night. I did convince him to outside and collect his treat, but he wouldn't let go of my hand. He woke up that night screaming, he had a nightmare about the bunny. Poor guy!

This is what happens when your friends are getting together to make tutus and you only have boys.

A quick recap

If you haven't heard by now we found out about a month ago that baby #3 is another BOY.

The boys have been very SICK for the past week! After nearly 5 years of motherhood I had my first visit to the ER. Jaden had a cold that kept getting worse which led to him having a really hard time breathing. I tried taking him to an instacare center, after about 3 minutes in the room that doctor sent us immediately to the emergency room. We were there for several hours. They gave Jaden a couple of breathing treatments and a chest xray. His final diagnosis was bronchitis, borderline pneumonia, and asthma attack. We are now the proud owners of our own nebulizer machine, which I am hoping we never have to use again. Just to show how bad I am at blogging these days, I never carry my camera around with me anymore so I have no pictures of our exciting hospital visit.

At first Jaden thought it was fun to wear a fish mask during his breathing treatments...

The excitement wore off quick when he realized that he had to sit there for 10 mins at a time, several times a day.

Logan started with a cold as well and his soon led to an ear infection (Jaden had a double ear infection as well) and croup. I nearly took him to the ER in the middle of the night since I had never experience croup before and didn't know what to do. Logan improved a little before I actually loaded him up in the car, so luckily for our pocketbook he was able to just go to the instacare in the morning. The hardest part was keeping my active boys still so that they could rest and recover. They are much better now and are loving the warm weather we are having.
Scott went to the first round of ncaa basketball games in Spokane (while I was at home with sick kids). Jaden was pretty upset when he found out why his dad was gone, so we had to have our own basketball party here. Jaden and Scott made tickets for us to get into the "arena" and we got to order dinner from the concession stand. Here are my boys eating hot dogs and frozen burritos. They followed that up with popcorn and nachos.

Jaden doubled as a spectator and the official ticket taker.

Since my last post I did have a birthday. Just one more year of my youth!
One morning I got out of the shower to find Jaden ready to put on a cowboy concert for me.
I was gone one night at winter camp with the young women in the ward, so the boys got to have a cookout of their own.
