I've been pretty out of the blogging world lately. With the exception of that crazy snow the other day the weather has just been too great to stay indoors. We usually go to at least one park a day and have been enjoying the library's summer activities. Last week we were able to listen to the local police read stories to the children and the next day they had a man there putting on a magic show. I thought the magic show was pretty neat and Jaden liked it for the first half hour. After that he turned to me and said, "can we go home now at watch a show on tv?"
Jaden is always in such a hurry to get outside that he throws on his shoes as fast as he can which usually results in him walking around like this:
It doesn't slow him down at all though. He can still run, climb, jump and ride with the best of them.
Logan is as cute as ever. He tries so hard to play with his big brother. They wrestle around on the floor pretty well for a few minutes but it typically results in one of the crying. Logan always goes after the hair and he's got a good grip, Jaden is a great big brother to put up with it. Likewise Logan is a champ for putting up with all the grabbing, poking and pulling.
Logan holds his own at the dinner table. He doesn't want to be left out anytime anyone is eating and always wants to grab a hold of what we've got. He's just like his mama.

What day is it?!
I woke up this morning and it was as if I had slept through the entire summer. This is what we did this afternoon.
It's the middle of June and it's snowing in Pullman!!!!

Swings, bikes and bears..oh my!
Every Saturday (okay really only the last two weeks) we go on a family bike ride. We drive over to a park where Jaden gets to ride his bike around for awhile then we toss the kids in the trailer and go for a real ride. Afterwards the kids get to play at the playground. Logan absolutely loves the swings! He really doesn't enjoy the bike ride at all but he's a trooper so I'm happy that he is able to enjoy at least some of the outing.
The university here is doing some sort of research on bears so we rode over to see them this last week. When we got there all the bears were asleep in the cages so it was pretty lame (like how they usually are at the zoo). When we were getting ready to leave a couple of bears showed up that were wandering around on the hillside. They seemed more interested in us then we were of them. They have two fences up but we were really only about 3 feet from the bears. One of them stood up on the fence and had a staring contest with us for several minutes. It was pretty cool to see them so close up.

He's getting better at riding.

Catching Up
I've been meaning to post pictures of Jaden's actual birthday for awhile but it seems like I never had the time. However, looking back I can't really think of too much going on that would have occupied my time. Since we had a bigger party at my parents house we didn't do too much on Jaden's birthday. We took him to Old McDonald's for lunch (I'm pretty sure he thinks that the song is referring to the golden arches.) We had a little party for him at home when Scott got off work and Jaden was able to open his big gift which was a bike. Unfortunately it was pouring rain that night so he didn't get to go outside and ride it. That night he woke up sick with the stomach flu and was out of commission for several days. This past week Jaden was able to go out and ride his bike around. He's still trying to get the hang of it, he just crashes into things rather than use the brakes.
My parents and Heather came over to see us this weekend and we discovered a great place to take the boys fishing. You simply had to cast your line out about 10 feet and you would have a bite within a minute or two. Jaden has a kid's pole that we got for a dollar at goodwill last year so we pleasantly surprised to find that it actually works and we were able to catch several fish with it.
Ditching the fishing to go play in the dirt.
Yesterday we went for our first family bike ride of the year. Logan left his helmet on for about a minute and a half, we'll shoot for 2 solid minutes next time.

Feels good to be a Prankster
So Jaden starred in his first rap video this past weekend. My brother Chad made this video for Mother's Day. I think it's pretty dang cute!

My little boy turns 3!
Jaden's birthday is on Tuesday so we decided to go to my parent's house for the weekend to have an early party for Jaden and to spend Mother's Day with my mom. If you can't tell from the picture, it was a fireman themed party. I had envisioned a cake with flames coming out of it, the actual outcome didn't quite live up with what I had in my head, but Jaden still loved it.
Mother's day was great. I'm very lucky to be the mother of two amazing boys.
Logan had a good time helping Jaden with his gifts.

Jaden thinks that it's so funny that some cars don't have tops on them and makes a big deal out of it every time we drive past a convertible. While we were in Yakima for the weekend we made sure that he was able to go for a ride with Grandpa. It was kinda cold but he still thought it was "amazingly cool" - his term for everything these days.

Utah Trip
Scott was gone last week to North Carolina for some meetings so the little boys and I tagged along with my parents on a trip to Utah. One of these days we are going to start actually taking trips together, there's an idea. It was a long time to be away from home but they boys did pretty well and we all had a great time.

On Sunday we decided to head up to Salt Lake. My parents went to the tabernacle choir performance. Since they didn't allow kids in I walked over to Scott's grandparents apartment who are serving a mission there. Afterwards we walked around temple square. It had been a long time since I'd been there and it was as gorgeous as ever.
