Scott and I spent eight amazing days in Hawaii. I love my kids and was really sad to leave them for so long, but I am so glad that we went without them. We'll take them to the Oregon coast this summer and they will think it is just as fun. The kids loved staying with Grandma Holt and we are very thankful she was willing to come and stay with them for so long. We are also very thankful to my parents for providing us a free place to stay and some good company in Hawaii.
Scott and my dad decided to rent paddle boards one day. Turns out it was a little trickier than they had hoped for.
On Sunday we found the church that my grandparents attended when they lived in Hawaii back in the 1940s.
We drove up the North Shore to watch locals surf in the big waves.
We were disappointed to find that the Laie Temple was closed for renovations.
The Pali Lookout.
As a reward for sitting through a long presentation in the morning we got extremely cheap tickets to the Polynesian Cultural Center. To sweeten the deal even more, we got to sit the in front row that night for the show!
The guy turned a piece of paper into "snow." It was a pretty cool show. We were sitting right near the stage so I thought I would be able to see better how he did everything, but I'm still as confused as ever how he made a helicopter appear on stage and a car disappear.
Once we got to Hawaii I realized that relaxing on the beach is a little harder when you are pregnant. I'm not suppose to lay flat on my back and obviously laying on my stomach is not an option. I sat propped up in a chair most of the time, but when I needed a change of position Scott would dig a hole in the sand for my big belly. That's true love!
Pregnant or not snorkeling was as fun as ever!
We went on a boat ride that was awesome! It was cloudy the afternoon we went, but that was actually a nice alternative to burning to a crisp.
Headed home to see our kids!
Snorkels and ukuleles!
