Christmas Programs

Jaden and Logan each had Christmas programs at their schools and when you throw in the church Christmas party - we had a lot of songs to practice this year!
The church program was pretty low key and much to our delight and surprise Logan stood up there normally and blended in with the other kids (unlike his school performance).

Cannon didn't get to perform, but he did look cute watching.

Scott and some of his friends played the bells for the Elders Quorum number.

Jaden did a great job at his school performance.  Sadly the memorable part of this performance was the letter from school the next day saying that someone in his class had head lice and oops sorry the kids were all switching around elf hats the day before.  We lucked out and didn't have lice show up, but I checked the kids like crazy everyday for a weeks just to make sure.

Sweet little Logan lives in his own world most of the time and that included his school Christmas program.  He ended up standing in the front row where everyone could see him all dressed up in his suit looking so handsome.  As the songs started Logan starred around for awhile and then started making really weird faces like opening his mouth as wide as he could and singing in what appeared to be slow motion.  During the next song Logan decided to take off his suit coat, then his tie, and then he untucked his dress shirt.  At his point I was pretty nervous what was coming next, hoping it wasn't his pants!  Luckily for all of us that was as far as it went.  The best part of the night was afterwards we told him he did a nice job and he so proudly said "thanks!"  He really had no idea he doing anything different than any of the other kids.

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving in Preston this year, and whenever we make that 12 hour drive we try to pack in as much fun as possible.  We started the trip after school so we only made it as far as Boise on the first night.  The kids loved staying in hotel and swimming in the pool.

From Boise we drove to Melissa and Jared's house in Lehi to spend a few days with them and of course to visit BYU.  We didn't make it to any sporting events this year, but we did spend a fortune at the bookstore!  No trip to Utah would be complete without at least one stop to Cafe Rio, so we crossed that off our list early on in the week.

The Jones took us to the Lehi waterpark and the kids had the time of their lives!

After Lehi, we drove to Preston to spend time with our Holt cousins.  We can always count on Grandpa and Grandma Holt's house to have lots of snow for the kids to play in.

Sarah had prepared a Thanksgiving play for all the cousins to perform.  Logan was really into the planning of it, but when performance time came he decided to sit it out with the parents instead.  One of these days we'll get him to do something in front of an audience.

This year's company party with at a Brazilian restaurant in Logan, UT.  The boys loved the all you can eat meat, Scott and Logan even tried a chicken heart.

Nov 2011

Cannon is so adorable!  From the time he was born he has always been super happy and bring so much joy to our lives.  Everything he does makes me smile including waking up half undressed!

We braved the very cold weather and headed to the Veteran's Day parade with Aunt Heather.

Logan has been playing basketball through the YMCA and once again his dad is coaching.  Basketball is the love of Logan's life and honestly he is amazing at it.  He consistently scored several baskets at each game, it is one of the very few things in life he takes seriously!

It drove Jaden and Cannon nuts to have to sit on the side line and watch rather than get out there themselves.
Logan plays hard all day. He seriously is active the entire day is awake, but once he crashes he is gone.  It takes him about 20 seconds after laying down on his bed for him to be dead asleep.  Sometimes he can't even make it to his bed!

Halloween

Halloween was a hit once again in the Holt household.  We had two superheroes and one adorable dinosaur.  The kids had a great time at the ward party playing games and getting tons of candy.
