A little bit of this, and a little bit of that...

Logan walks around the house all day with this refrigerator magnet toy. He loves to push the button and dance to the music. Usually he is carrying it up next to his ear, so we call it is little boom box.

Jaden and I made some Halloween cookies the other day. This kind of task is really hard for me because as it turns out I don't have a lot of patience. Jaden had a great time and the cookies were delicious so overall it was worth the time and mess.

After church on Sunday the sun was actually out so we decided to head out on a walk. Jaden got himself dressed. Kinda embarrassing, but I figured it was pretty obvious that I didn't dress him this way.

I decided that this year instead of carving pumpkins that I would let the boys paint theirs. Logan actually only took a few crayons to his since it was late and he needed to be in bed shortly after we started (doesn't he look great in his Christmas jammies). Jaden however did love painting his pumpkin. I just realized that I didn't take a picture of his masterpiece after it was complete, I'll have to post that later.

So this is our daily newspaper that covers both Pullman, Wa and Moscow, ID. I just think it is hilarious how small it is. There are ads rolled up in there too.

Proud Mama Moment

I took Logan in for his one year check up a few days ago. The appointment was coming to a close and the Dr. mentioned that they could give Jaden his flu shot at the same time they gave Logan all of his shots. After he left and we were waiting for the nurse to come in with the needles I had to quickly tell Jaden that surprise although we are here for Logan he gets to be poked at too. He didn't seem to get too upset when I told him, but I was mentally preparing myself to haul two bawling kids out of the office.
When the nurse came in Jaden asked her who was going to get a shot first and she replied that it was up to him. Jaden looked her right in the eyes and said, "I'll go first, so I can show my little brother how to be brave." He hopped right up on the table and took it like a man, I don't think he even flinched once. I was so proud of Jaden for being such a good big brother. Despite all the pulling/pushing/tugging he does, Jaden really does love Logan and takes such good care of him.

Our little birthday boy

It's really hard to believe that my baby is one! Logan has grown up so quickly over the past couple of weeks and really has transitioned into a boy rather than a baby. We had a little party for Logan and he really enjoyed being the center of attention. My parents were able to come over for few days to help us celebrate which added to all the fun.

What little boy doesn't like to get a coat for his birthday? Well maybe it's not as fun as a little bike or a new toy...but Logan still loved it!

Logan enjoyed playing around with the cake, sticking an occasional bite in his mouth. We were surprised that he didn't end up very messy at all. He usually does more damage than that during a typical lunch.

Videos...

Jaden was helping me cook the other day and he wanted to create his own special drink. He spent a long time deciding what should go in it, and mixed it all very thoroughly. Jaden thought it was the best thing he had ever tasted. Here is his recipe:
2 C Water
2 T Milk
2 Tortilla chips
Diced red onion
Pear slices

Who can resist a spaghetti shot?!

Logan has figured out this walking business, he is also getting close to standing up on his own without a hand or a wall.

Of course if we are filming Logan, Jaden just can't wait for his turn. Here he is showing off his dancing skills. This boy has soooo much energy!
After dancing it was football and chest bumps

Hiawatha Trail

Yesterday we biked the Hiawatha Trail on the Montana/Idaho state line near Wallace, ID. The trail follows an old railroad path that spans 15 miles and takes riders through 10 tunnels and over 7 high rise trestles. I was really nervous about the ride since we haven't been able to ride our bikes very often this past month. I got even more nervous when we pulled up to the bottom of the rail and all the people around us were covered in spandex. We looked a little out of place with our kids and our cotton. I kept asking Scott if we should just drive back up the top and just coast down like most people do, but he said we could handle it.
It was awesome! We ended up only going about 25 miles rather than the full 30. The longest tunnel is 1.7 miles which is at the very top of the trail and we elected not to ride through that tunnel with the boys as we would have simply turned around to come back through and it would have been about 45 minutes riding in the dark.
I posted a ton of pictures, but it was just so gorgeous there that I decided to include most all of them!

What we've been up to...

Football season started a few weeks ago and we have two Washington State games under our belt. The boys do relatively well at the games considering that we go to all the pregame activities and then the game itself is a couple of hours. We've had a good time watching the cheerleaders and band also looking for Scott down on the field. The football game itself could use a little work, last week WSU lost 66-3... ouch!

We spent labor day in Yakima. Jaden wanted me to play dress up with him so I was sorting through the box when I saw the perfect dress hung up in the closet. Jaden thought it was really funny, but Scott's face was priceless when he got home from playing golf to find me in my wedding dress...it still fits!

I only have a month left until my baby turns one! Logan has put up with a lot of changes lately, but he is still the happiest baby in the world. This past week or two I switched him over to just one nap a day (I hated the twice a day schedule). He transitioned really well and we now have our mornings back! I also took his pacifier away except for sleeping, all last month it was glued in his mouth so I decided to kick that habit before he got any older. It was a struggle the first couple of days, but now he's doing great and I get to see his big smile all day long. I also gave in and gave him a big boy hair cut. I was sad to see it go, but he is still just as cute as ever.

Unfortunately, that darn double crown in the back of his head still makes what hair he has left stick straight up. I decided that he is going to have channel his inner punk... and rock the mohawk style for awhile.

Logan is getting really close to walking now. He stands alone all the time and will take about 4-5 steps before falling. This video doesn't show off his new skill at all but I love it because it shows how happy he is. Logan is seriously the easiest baby ever!
