Coeur d'Alene

Scott had his annual regional meeting for work last week, this year they took us to Coeur d'Alene, ID.  The kids were really excited for the trip to kick off summer vacation, unfortunately for Jaden he had to miss his last day of school.  His class had a program a few days earlier so we were able to go to that and see him get his kindergarten graduation certificate.  His class sang a few songs and then went around and each child said what they wanted to be when they grow up.  There were about 10 vets, 2 firemen, a police officer, a nurse, a teacher, and one financial advisor.  Like father like son!  We love our little Jaden and are so proud of all he accomplished this past year.  Now if we could just figure out howto keep him from growing up so fast!

Edward Jones is an amazing company to work for and are very much family focused.  During his three days of meetings, he got done at noon each day and the rest of the time was scheduled to be family time.  The first night they arranged a dinner cruise around Lake Coeur d'Alene.  It was raining and cold, but we all still had a great time.

The next day they gave us tickets to go to Silverwood, an amusement park about 10 mins away.  The weather was colder than normal and rain was in the forecast, so the park was fairly empty.  We were able to walk on to just about every ride and lucky for us it never actually did rain.

Cannon is always just so happy to watch his big brothers.

Since Jaden is so tall he was able to go on rides that he probably wasn't emotionally ready for.  One of the first rides we came to was this big tower that takes you super high in the air and then you free fall for about 5 seconds and the ride is over.  Jaden said he wanted to go and since we aren't very smart parents we said okay.  Once the ride started going up I realized what a bad idea this was and I started to panic that he would get too scared and never go on a ride again.  Jaden actually handled it really well, since he didn't really know what the ride was he didn't get very nervous on the way up.  The fall happens so quickly that he barely had time to get scared before it was over.  He said he liked it, but didn't want to ride it again for a long time.  I on the other hand rode it about three more times that day, it was fun.

This was probably another poor parenting choice, but we took Cannon up on the ferris wheel.  Again once we started going up in the air I started to get worried and yelled at Scott over and over again not to take his arms off of our baby.

Finally we got it right and just let the poor boy sleep.

From the time we got there the boys wanted to go on the bumper boats, but we kept telling them no because it was cold and they didn't want to be wet all day.  Right when the park was about to close we decided that they could go on them for their last right since it had warmed up a bit and most people had gone home so no one would pay the 25 cents to spray water all over the riders (we were wrong about that one).  I thought that Scott would have Logan ride with him but both Logan and Jaden drove a boat themselves.  The boats were hard to control and Jaden had a hard time driving his away from the area where the random 13 year old boy and his family were squirting water all over my helpless little 6 year old.  Logan just sort of floated around, but when it was time to come back to the dock afterwards he really struggled to get his boat where it was suppose to be.  The worker had to get into a boat and tie a rope to Logan's to pull him in.  Logan had the cutest helpless look on his face the whole time.
